God's Way to Eternal Life

Life is filled with many difficult and sometimes life-altering decisions. No decision is more important than the one that will effect your eternal destiny. The Bible says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Jesus Christ died on a cruel, rugged cross for you. Why was that necessary, you may ask. Romans 3:23 states, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” We are all sinners. While some might say, “I’m not as bad as so and so,” the standard is not someone else. The standard is the absolute holiness of God. We fall far short of His holiness.

Because of our sin, we deserve death (forever separated from God in a place called hell). Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Though we deserve an eternity in hell, Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose again as God’s gift to us. His death, burial and resurrection provides us the opportunity to be forgiven. Jesus Christ is the “Bridge” between sinful man and a Holy God.

There is only one way to get a gift. You must receive it. John 1:12 states, “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.” You must receive God’s gift of eternal life. That gift is Jesus Himself. Romans 10:13 clearly promises, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.” Is it really that simple? Yes, it is! Are you willing to call on Jesus right now, putting your complete trust in Him for forgiveness and salvation? If you are, you can pray the following prayer from your heart. If you do so, and mean it, Jesus will do what He promised. He will become your Savior.

“Dear Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that you died and rose again for my sins. Right now, I ask you to come into my heart, forgive me of my sins and become my Savior. Thank you, Jesus, for your forgiveness and salvation. Amen.”
